Wedding in Portland

This is a little late, but during the first weekend of May 2009, I went up to assist with a wedding in the Portland area. The couple is young and very spunky which made for a fun afternoon. Here are some samples. My website is still in the works, shouldn't be too much longer now.

Wedding Pictures

Today was a wonderful day. My good friends got married this morning and I ended up taking pictures for almost 3 hours. This was broken up by a champagne brunch which was absolutely delicious. The pictures were taken at the U.C. Berkeley botanical gardens. I don't think I was intended to shoot for as long as I did, but it just happened. I had a great time and I am very happy that I was able to get so many good shots. I took some of the best photos yet, and I am very excited to get them sorted and processed so I can post a full album. Below are a couple that I really liked and wanted to just get something posted. I have over 200 photos to go over, but I will get through them as quickly as possible.

January shoot

This was one of my last shoots in Portland on the waterfront. It was very cold that day, probably in the 30's or so. We had a lot of fun even though we tried to get through the shoot a bit quick because we were all freezing.

Engagement Session

This is my second photo shoot. My friends Alan and Margaret helped me out and are a lovely couple. We had a lot of fun during this session and I got quite a few fun poses and some very sweet expressions. I am looking forward to going to their wedding in Mexico, it's going to be a blast!!

Introduction

Hello, my name is Ian Elliott. I created this blog to share some of my work as an amateur photographer. I have always had an interest in photography, but never had the drive to really get into it until I was inspired by my wife. She has become a professional photographer (www.relliottphotography.com) and I am hoping to follow in her footsteps at some point. I am currently doing senior portrait and family portrait sessions and may get into wedding photography. I have shot as an assistant in a couple of weddings and had a great time.
